Birthright Orientation and Sample Itinerary

Orientation

Before each round of trips, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta conducts a pre-trip orientation for anyone in the area going on any Birthright Israel trip. The orientation is split into two groups; one for participants and one for parents. Although not mandatory, this orientation is highly encouraged. It is the opportunity for soon-to-be participants and their parents to ask questions.

Orientation for summer trips is typically held in late April or early May. Winter trip orientation is typically held in late November or early December.

Sample Itinerary

All Birthright trips will hike Masada, float in the Dead Sea, sleep in a Bedouin tent and ride a camel, visit the Old city of Jerusalem and the Kotel, visit Independence Hall and Rabin Square in Tel Aviv, tour the ancient city of Tzfat, go to Yad Vashem and Har Herzl and more.

“My Birthright trip helped me find my identity, connect with my roots and shape the

person that I am today. Some of my best friends today are people that I met on my

trip and for that I will always be grateful.”

- Sara, Summer 2009 participant, Atlanta community trip
