Jacobson Leadership Institute

The Jacobson Leadership Institute (JLI) is a leadership development course for lay leadership in our synagogues, day schools, agencies and organizations. The program was named in honor of Betty Ann Jacobson, a former Federation president and true Jewish leader in our Community. The theme of the 2015-2016 leadership program is “Adaptive Leadership & Good Governance”. By the end of the “Good Governance” series, participants will understand:

  • The Jewish communal system
  • The role and responsibilities of Board members
  • Financial matters affecting an institution, including budget and financial statements
  • The impact of Board structure on an organization
  • Partnerships between professionals and lay leaders
  • Strategic planning, succession planning and self-evaluation

The goal is to build a coalition of informed and educated community leaders to help strengthen their own organizations and the Atlanta Jewish community at large. There is no financial cost to this program for either the institution or the participant.
