Community-Wide Security

The CWS program was launched in 2001 to help local Jewish communal organizations and synagogues improve their security. The new CWS Director, Cathal Lucy, is looking forward to working with dozens of these organizations to develop security policies, processes, and systems.

Cathal helps beneficiaries develop security action plans, provides training and educational programming, consults congregations on High Holiday security, and provides security recommendations for major Jewish communal events. This often includes working with security equipment vendors and overseeing installation projects. Through the Department of Homeland Security Grants, Cathal has assisted many of these organizations in obtaining more than $2 million to fully or partially fund these projects over the last seven years.

Cathal’s services are available for free to all Jewish communal organizations in the Atlanta area.
